Apostles’ Creed We believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. We believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. One - Our Father, Three - Hail Mary’s, One - Glory Be Contemplate each of the five Joyful Mysteries. Follow each meditation by First Joyful Mystery—The Annunciation: Mary’s “yes” to God led to the incarnation of Jesus Christ. We pray that, like Mary, we will be generous in responding to God’s call. Second Joyful Mystery—Visitation of Mary: Elizabeth encourages Mary. In our prayers and daily living, let us encourage those called by the Lord to bring the good news through different vocations in the Church. Third Joyful Mystery—Birth of Jesus: When Mary gave birth, the angels brought joyful tidings to the shepherds. Let us pray that, as we respond to our vocations, we will bring the hope of the Gospel to others. Fourth Joyful Mystery—Presentation in the Temple: In presenting Jesus in the temple, Mary and Joseph showed the face of God to Simeon. We pray for those who labor for the Church and reflect God’s face through acts of kindness, faith, and love. Fifth Joyful Mystery—Finding of Jesus in the Temple: After three days, Mary and Joseph found Jesus in the temple. We pray for parents, that they will entrust their children’s vocations to the Lord. |
