seminarians start off 2009 with annual retreat and conference

Saint Francis de Sales Seminarians gather for an annual winter retreat between semesters. The 2009 retreat sessions were held from January 4th through the 9th amidst the silent retreat setting at the Schoenstatt Retreat Center in Waukesha.

This year's retreat was led by Bishop Callahan.  Bishop Callahan presented a wide range of topics including personal holiness, spirituality of a parish priest, the priesthood and the Sacrament of Penance, Veneration of Saints and the important role that Mary plays in the lives of her priests and seminarians.

Seminarians also participated in the Men of Christ Conference where seminarians assisted with Mass presided by Most Reverend David L. Ricken, Bishop of Green Bay. Deacon Luke Strand and Deacon Sean O'Connell were deacons of the Mass. Seminarian Brad Krawczyk presided as MC and Seminarian Ryan Pruess did the readings.
