Describe yourself.

I grew up in Slinger, WI and then later moved to Pewaukee, WI.  I worked for a Financial Services company as a Desktop Support Technician. I’m an easy-going person, I try to make friends with whomever I meet.  My Catholic Faith is at the heart of all that I say and do.

Tell us your vocation story.

I have always had a feeling to be a priest since high school.  I was told by a few people in my parish in Slinger, St. Peter, that I would make a great priest.  I never really pursued that thought and instead went on to make a Career in Desktop Support, which I did for 15 years.  Then, the COVID-19 pandemic happened.  Having churches closed and being denied the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, really hurt me spiritually.  I started to think of what else God had in store for me and the thought and feeling of the priesthood came back into the forefront of my mind and I then pursued that calling.

What is the greatest challenge facing a man considering the seminary?

I would say making that first contact with your local parish priest and/or the vocation director of the diocese.  For me, it was the fear of rejection, what if they say no?  Or, what if they say yes?  However, you will never truly know if God is calling you until you make those first contacts outside of yourself.  Take the leap and don’t worry what they will or will not say.  If you follow what God is calling you to do nothing bad will come of it, only good.

What is your favorite psalm verse and why?

Psalm 23, I get a sense of calmness when I read it.  That even though evil and darkness may encompass me about at times, the Lord is always right there by my side to comfort and protect me.

What are your favorite activities outside of the seminary?

I like to bike, play soccer and tennis.  I also like to spend time with friends and family.

Where do you like to go to pray?

The chapel.

Where do you do your best studying?

In my room and library.

Which saint should people ask to intercede for your vocation?

Blessed Michael J. McGivney, St. Albert the Great, Blessed Virgin Mary
